wow. I feel totally blessed to be able to have insight like this into the cognitive functions of some folks who are considered autistic. makes me remember how I was when I was working with young autistic kids at monarch school, and frankly, I think I really missed the mark most of the time, in not understanding fully the humanity and complexity in their persons. amanda has an incredible gift at being able to articulate her cognitive capacities and difficulties.
